The BJP on Friday alleged that the Odisha Government has misled people giving false information on free medicine distribution under its Niramaya scheme.
“The Government on Thursday said that 421 kinds of medicine are being distributed under the scheme. But in reality, only about 50 medicines are available at different hospitals,” said BJP spokesperson Golak Mohapatra.
Party state president Basanta Panda has gathered this information during the ongoing Janakalyan Yatra from different hospitals, Mohapatra said.
The State Government should distribute more medicines to the poor people free of cost, Mohapatra demanded, adding that the Government has failed to fulfil its promise vis-à-vis the Niramaya shceme.
What the State Government had declared earlier on Niramaya scheme, are yet to be fulfilled, said Mohapatra.
He too alleged that the Maternal Mortality Rate has been increased due to lack of doctors at the Government hospitals.
