The second State council meeting of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), State unit will be held at the lohia Academy on Saturday. Delhi University professor Ajit Jha, who is also a member of the AAP National Executive Committee, will address the gathering.

The meeting would discuss the progress of the party in the State since its launch on March 16 this year. While about 7,500 members have joined the party in this period, nearly 1,000 people have donated to the party’s funds online from different parts of the State, said a party Press release on Friday.

In light of the Union Cabinet’s decision to amend the RTI Act to exempt political parties from its ambit, the AAP would hold a protest rally at the PMG Square at 4 pm after the council meeting, the release said. Party members would use the newly-assigned election symbol of broom to sweep the area and raise awareness among the public about the urgent need to root out corruption from public life, it added.
