All the 33 nominations for Zilla Parishad seats were found valid in Jharsuguda after scrutiny was over.
likewise, 1,001nominations for Ward Member, 374 for Sarpanch and 198 for Samiti Member were found correct. In total, 1,608 candidatures were found to be in order.
In lakhanpur block, 262 nominations for Ward Member, 138 for Sarpanch and 114 for Samiti Member were valid. Similarly, 243 nominations for Ward Member, 92 for Sarpanch and 57 for Samiti Member in Jharsuguda block, 152nominations for Ward Member, 49 for Sarpanch, 27 for Samiti Member in Kirmira Block, 176 for Ward Member, 44 for Sarpanch in Kolabira block and 168 for Ward Member and 51 for Sarpanch in laikera block in the district were found valid.
On the scrutiny of nomination papers on Wednesday, district officials, including Sub Collector Ajay Kumar Jena, Election Observer for Jharsuguda district Rabindra Mishra and the representatives of the major political parties were present.
