Criticising the anti-reservation statement of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Manmohan Vaidya, National Backward Classes’ Association (NBCA) has on Monday alleged that RSS is conspiring to abolish the reservation.
Talking to the media persons here on Monday, Association’s national president Jagdish Yadav stated that reservation has been granted by the Indian Constitution. It is not a charity from a casteist organisation like RSS,
backward people.
“The Indian Constitution has provision of reservation to scheduled castes (15 per cent) under the article 341 and to the scheduled tribes (7.5 per cent) in the article 342,”
he added.
Association’s State president Ratanlal Batham stated that creating financial, social and political equality among the people is the main objective of the Indian Constitution. All the people of the country have equal rights over the resources of the country. The gap between the poor people and the riches has increased after the 70 years of independence.
This is unfortunate that Sangh projects itself as the godfather of Hindus and on the other hand speaks against the rights of the backwards, scheduled castes and tribes. Sangh talks about ending the constitutional rights of the people of the backward
classes.
Batham further stated that speaking against the Indian constitution shows that they have no faith in it. These people are not faithful towards the articles of
the constitution.
He added that Manmohan Vaidya has insulted the Indian constitution by commenting against reservation in the Jaipur literature Festival. The association condemns and criticizes the comment of Vaidya, he added.
