RGPV students develop android-based robots

Staff Reporter

The students of Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) designed robots that can be operated using android phones.

The robots were designed using just the android phones. These robots can be operated with the Bluetooth device. The robots are designed in such a way that both the devices i.e. the robot and android phones are connected with each other. The students made the robot work using the applications from their smartphones, which was an incredible sight to watch.

Notably, a daylong awareness camp Space Technology Awareness Camp was organized at RGPV on Monday, wherein the students explored innovative ideas. They were exposed to various new ideas related to space and technology. The android robot was among them.

The workshop was conducted by the Space Technology Students’ Association, IIT Kharagpur.

While talking about the unique design of robots, one of the volunteers of the workshop at UIT RGPV Ajay Pandey told The Pioneer, “Today, the smartphone is a must in every pocket. This multi featured device was brilliantly used by the technical students of the city.”

He also said, “With the increasing of technology, today we need to get more innovative. Hence, the programme Bluedroid was all about the Bluetooth robot.” Elaborating further, he said that the robot design was prepared in a daylong workshop ‘Space Technology Awareness Camp.’

The workshop was held with an aim to let the students think out of the box and create something exciting and new. “So, here students learnt to prepare their own robots,” he added.

During the workshop, the students also explored about the water rocketry. The students here prepared water rockets and also launched them with excitement.

later, a space awareness quiz was also held. The winners of the quiz will participate in the next level to be held at Kharagpur. As many as 150 students participated in the awareness camp.
