A rape and murder accused was awarded capital punishment by the district court here on Friday. He had reportedly raped and brutally killed a 15-year-old girl in September 2012. On the fateful day, the victim had gone missing. later she was found dead in Budhni forest.
In the post mortem report, it was confirmed that the victim had been sexually assaulted and then killed.
During investigation, it was found that the automobile mechanics Mohd Mustafa and Aziz, who used to work near the victim's house, were involved in the crime.
later, it was established that Mohd Mustafa (45) committed rape and murder while Mohd Aziz (52) helped him in disposing of the body. Main accused Mohd Mustafa was sentenced to death while the other accused was acquitted for want of evidence.
The victim used to stay at GRP Colony at Habibganj and was acquainted with the accused.
