PNS

Former Minister and senior Congress legislator Govind Singh has alleged that illegal mining is going on unabated in the whole Gwalior-Chambal region under the patronage of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. While talking to mediapersons on Friday, Singh said, that nine people have been killed, while 35 people have been injured in Bhind district due to illegal mining during the rule of BJP. However, the district administration is sitting silent due to interference of local people representative under the patronage of the Chief Minister.

Singh further said that the MlAs and other people’s representatives are openly demanding their share in illegal mining. The matter has been raised in the State Assembly and a petition has been filled in the court, even then no action has been taken and the State Government is facing loss of crores of rupees every year due to theft of royalty. He warned the State Government that if illegal mining is not stopped, then he would be compelled to launch agitation. He further alleged that the farmers are committing suicide one after the other due to untimely rains and hailstorm. The Government is not at all serious about providing compensation to farmers and thus, they are committing suicide in Bhind district and elsewhere. He assured the farmers that the Congress party is with them and warned that if any untoward situation is created, the Government and district administration would be responsible.
