A team of Gyan Ganga Institute of Technology and Management (GGITM), comprising of four computer science students of third year, has achieved a great milestone by winning the first prize in World Citizenship Category in the Microsoft Imagine Cup India National Finals 2014.
It’s a great achievement by team GGITM as 60,000 student innovators from 25 Indian states battled it out for the top three spots in the India-leg of the 12th annual Microsoft Imagine Cup 2014. After the initial zonal rounds 24 teams from various IITs, IIITDs, VITs and many other private institutions/universities reached the finals. The final was held at Noida where all the finalists were given a chance to present their project to a panel of judges from various industries.
In the World Citizenship Category there were 10 teams fighting for the top position. These teams were from IIT Roorkee, IIIT Delhi, VIT, lPU, KIIT University and other private institutions. After the tough competition, Team GGITM bagged the first position in World Citizenship Category in India Finals. The other categories were Innovation and Gaming. Out of these 3 top teams, only one will be representing India in Seatle, USA, the home town of Microsoft where the World Finals will happen in July 2014.
Team GGITM has made a project on pro-active security system of ATMs. Basically it is a virtual security guard for ATM centres.
Any unwanted activity inside ATMs will be immediately broadcast to the concerned authorities as well as all the citizens who have downloaded the ATM app so that together they can make ATM a safe place. Divyani Dubey, Garima Purohit, Jitendra Khasdev and Jai Sharma from CSE 6th Semester were working on the projects since last 5-6 months. They appreciated the facilities provided by the institution at every step.
