Collector Roshan Kumar Singh on Tuesday conducted an inspection of the District Command and Control Center, which operates under the Public Service Management Department as part of the Ujjain Smart City initiative. The center, which plays a crucial role in connecting citizens with the government, is tasked with gathering phone-based feedback from beneficiaries of various government schemes in the district.
The primary objective of the District Command Center is to understand how government schemes have impacted the lives of beneficiaries and to assess the extent to which individuals have been able to avail of the benefits. By engaging in direct conversations with beneficiaries, the center helps in evaluating the effectiveness of these schemes and determining the kind of support citizens are receiving. Since its inception, the center has been reaching out to over 300 beneficiaries daily.
During his visit, Collector Roshan Kumar Singh emphasized the importance of maintaining respectful and courteous communication with the beneficiaries. He directed officials to ensure that feedback is collected in a structured manner, focusing on the beneficiaries' experiences, challenges, and the specific benefits they have gained from government schemes. Singh stressed the need for comprehensive data collection to enhance the quality of public service delivery and improve future policy initiatives.
The Collector also discussed the ongoing operations at the Command Center and outlined the necessity of creating a detailed beneficiary database covering all departments. "It is important to maintain a structured database that includes feedback from all departments, which can then be used to coordinate efforts and improve outreach," Singh said. He instructed officials to contact beneficiaries regularly to gather information about the services they received, the challenges faced during the process, and the positive changes they have experienced.
In addition to the call center's operations, Singh directed all relevant government departments to compile their own beneficiary databases and ensure the data is shared with the District Command Center.
This will facilitate improved coordination between departments and better follow-up with beneficiaries, ensuring a more integrated approach to service delivery.
Singh also emphasized the importance of continuous monitoring and feedback loops to ensure that the schemes are not only reaching the intended individuals but are also providing tangible benefits. The feedback collected will be analyzed to identify areas where the schemes can be improved, ensuring that the government can respond effectively to citizens' needs.
The initiative reflects the district administration's commitment to improving governance, promoting transparency, and ensuring that government programs are effectively serving the public. With the ongoing engagement and structured feedback, Ujjain aims to set a benchmark for other districts in the state in terms of government accountability and citizen engagement.
