An Art Therapy Workshop was held on Monday virtually. The workshop was organised by Srajana Academy for Design and Fine Arts.

Art is not just an expression but a way to connect with yourself so that you can be free from stress by knowing yourself", shared Art Therapist and Psychologist Sahar Ali, Hyderabad.

Sahar said this in an online workshop 'De-stress Art' organized by Sarjana Academy for Design and Fine Arts. The workshop was attended by 35 participants including art teachers, design students and class 12 students. Several activities were conducted in the workshop. The first activity was 'Dance of Crayons' which involved coloring the sheet with crayons according to the music. It helps to feel at ease and positive emotions.

In the second activity the participants had to paint the sky with their favorite color accompanied by music. This practice connects the mind with the body and increases self-confidence. The third exercise was 'Graph on Canvas' in which the selection of colors helps to enhance the creative personality and gives a feeling of peace. Sahar says your relation is with you and canvas, no one else has any right on it. According to the Gestalt theory, emotions combine with colors to form a larger picture.

Art educator Saba Iftikhar said that it was most amazing to experience how my hands, ears, eyes and emotions are connected to each other.” Eklavya teacher Nanda Sharma says “Today’s workshop was very helpful.
