The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has signed an MoU with Lovely Professional University (LPU), Jalandhar, for mutual cooperation — recognition to Company Secretary qualification as equivalent to PG degree for admission to PhD in Management or Commerce or Law on November 28, 2018 at Jalandhar.
Under this partnership, the ICSI will conduct specialised training programmes at the university for the faculty, research scholars and students in areas of mutual interest. The university will nominate ICSI members for academic Board/syllabus review Board of colleges/university. Exchange of faculty members will allow sharing of expertise for training programmes or workshops organised by ICSI.
Joint organise workshops, seminars, continuing education and training programmes like training of trainers (ToT) for professionals, corporate executives and faculty members, research scholars and students of LPU will be organised as well. The ICSI and university will work jointly for teacher congruence by organising specialised programmes together.
Moreover, regularly an exchange journals published by the parties will also get featured in each other’s publications. There will be exchange of course materials, case studies, research publications and other academic and research inputs. With the Joint Meeting of Curriculum Development Committees, both will also extend help and co-operation in developing each other’s academic curriculum and education programmes.
The ICSI and the university will also undertake joint research projects and will reciprocate participation in their National and International conferences.
The university will be providing an exemption in university subjects for the students of ICSI in topics such as Corporate Governance. The ICSI may also assist LPU in devising up a Governance Code for the university.
