The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) invites application for the entrance exam conducted for admission to its Post Graduate Diploma programmes. The courses offered at various IIMC campuses are:
· IIMC New Delhi: Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism (Hindi), Post-Graduate Diploma in Radio and TV Journalism, Post-Graduate Diploma in Advertising and Public Relations and Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism (English).
· IIMC Dhenkanal: Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism (English) and Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism (Odia)
· IIMC Amravati: Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism (English)
· IIMC Aizawl: Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism (English)
· IIMC Jammu: Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism (English)
· IIMC Kottayam: Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism (English)
Eligibility criteria
All the candidates interested in applying need to possess a graduate degree in any discipline. Moreover, those appearing in the final year or semester exam can also apply. For the General category, candidates should not be older than 25 years of age on August 8, 2017. For OBC category, candidates upper age limit should not exceed 28 years. For SC/ST/PwD, candidates should not exceed the upper age limit of 30 years.
Exam Pattern
For Journalism: General awareness, including understanding of social dynamics; interest in social history; awareness of public debates on matters of polity and economy; awareness about international developments influencing power equations in the world and their impact on India. It will test your aptitude and mental make-up, language capability and analytical and comprehension skills.
For Advertising and Public Relations: It includes general awareness, aptitude and mental make-up, language capability, analytical and comprehension skills, brand awareness and recall and quantification skills.
Selection process
All those candidates who will successfully clear the entrance examination will be called for a personal interview and group discussion.
Important Dates
The sale of application form has begun from March 15. The last date for sale and receipt of application form is May 5. The entrance exam for Odia/Urdu/ Marathi/Malyalam Journalism will he held on May 27 from 9 am to 10 am. The entrance exam for PG Diploma in Journalism Hindi/English (9 am to 11 am), PG Diploma in Radio and TV Journalism (12 noon to 2 pm) and PG Diploma in Advertising and Public Relation (3 pm to 5 pm) will be on May 28, 2017.
