Follow nature's model for happy life

Picking up threads from the previous issue, it comes out that being an inseparable unit of a large organism, the interconnectedness and compulsive interdependence becomes imperative. That calls for living in togetherness, complementing and supplementing the efforts of each other.  But for which, our existential needs would not be taken care of. Evidently, therefore, it becomes incumbent upon us to remain conscious about our collective obligations as much as our individualistic aspirations.

Now given the fact that every being is born unique, quite at variance with each other, life as such cannot move to one’s asking. Yet life has to move. That calls for the need to develop inter-personal relationship skill, so as to relate well to those around, overriding all individual limitations. Nature offers very potent clue in this direction.

look at the run of planetary kingdom in our immediate galaxy. All planets, traversing their individual specific trajectory at their respective speeds, move round the Sun. It implies that all of them enjoy independent space by themselves, none interfering in other’s domain. Yet they maintain relativity amongst themselves. It is as if they move as a family, respectively discharging their individualistic as well as collective obligations. These planetary bodies keep extending their services in a giving mode in service of the living order, not looking for anything in return thereof. It is believed that but for the Sun, there would be no life on earth. It, is however, equally true that solar energy by itself cannot create and sustain life cycle. It needs support of energies marked with all other planets.

Our family and societal life too needs to be fashioned on the above model for its smooth run. Accordingly, we need to allow independent space to all our associates, while at the same time remaining conscious about our collective duties and obligations. Also, one would need to appreciate the sensibilities and concerns of other co-runners in life, while being particular about one’s own urges and aspirations.

Here again, invariably, we are all born ignorant, and therefore, imperfect.  So, we all have to have some individualistic limitations. But then, experience suggests that against a few individualistic infirmities that one may have, invariably the positives are much more. The usual human tendency, however, is that one gets stuck to few negatives in others, often ignoring many more positives in them. What further compounds our problem is that it is only human beings who wish to live almost in a demanding mode, on one’s own exclusive terms. That often makes one intolerant and impatient.

On top of all that is the fact that amidst all the potentials and limitations carried by a being, the negatives involuntarily play from the front. The potentials, on the contrary, need to be identified, acknowledge, and honed, for them to be put to use. The negative habits and attitudes also play spoilsport with our indwelling potentials. That makes it incumbent upon us to identify and address our frailties well in time. But we seldom remain alert on this count.

A case in point is that at of a young married couple not been able to come to terms with each other during the last two years of their married life. The reason, in the first place is that the two are ignorant about the dynamics of collective living. Second, being stuck to their individualistic whims and fancies, they do not appreciate each other’s sensibilities.

let us now look at the astrological pointers to the young man’s inherent tendencies. The Sun is locked in adverse formation to limiting Saturn, and mischievous Neptune. This speaks of a negative mindset being habitually suspicious of others, due to indwelling sense of insecurity and fear. Also, he would be stuck to his self-delusions, having a tendency to escape when confronted with issues, which given a little effort could have been otherwise easily resolved. Mercury ill-disposed off to Uranus and restive Rahu accounts for his insensible reasoning and judgement. Mind indicator Moon is sandwiched between headless Ketu and fiery Mars, and also ill-disposed to Venus. That makes him irritable, and too much emotionally touchy, who gets over exercised on trivial issues. Consequently, he is not able to intelligently attend to his wife’s emotional insecurity. In the process, even his potentials, that are immense, get marginalised.

I hope he addresses his infirmities soon and pursue the mental exercise suggested to absorb the lesson in the dynamics of collective living earnestly. Very soon he will be able to have a pleasant life.
