Astrology reads personality traits

Mind happens to be the prime-mover of a being. For, all that you do is initiated and then processed in mind, before being put into act. Even your response and reaction to a situation is conducted by mind. The powers of mind are immense. If we could unfold full human potential, sky would be the limit, whence life may prove a pleasant experience. Someone asked Swami Vivekananda: “Is there a possibility to become Godlike if not God; and if so, howIJ Swamiji replied: “First, become a man and the rest follows.”

What does it mean in practical termsIJ Well, going by ancient India’s philosophic perception, mind is an instrument, which is projected by the eternal force of consciousness for being used as its vehicle of operation. And the force of consciousness, which is the substratum of the existential order with all its dynamism, is said to be omniscient.  So, if mind is made to operate at its optimal level, it could make full use of that power, when it will know no limits.

The paradox, however, is that most of us are born with a clouded mind, coming as it may with choice option in hand, which often takes an unseemly turn. For, mind is driven by a sense of duality, which could turn either way, good or bad. The imprints of pleasant or painful experiences thus had, and the feel thereof, keep haunting us for long, even stretching on to successive lives.  Remember, mind gets going on the thought feeds it carries. All the negative imprints carried over from the past, condition our thought process one way or the other, and which sets the terms of our personality-trends. Mind, thus, loses its sense of freedom. Otherwise, mind in its orderly frame as designed, could have looked at the issues in hand with an open mind, to provide the most appropriate lead. Regaining this sense of freedom, so as to acquire its wholesome powers is what Swamiji meant.

Remember, any empowerment tool remains a double edged weapon. So is the mind. It is something like electrical current, which is capable of fuelling both an air-conditioning machine and a heater. Naturally then, if mind happens to be overflowing with negative impressions from the past, it may take a devilish turn.

What’s the way outIJ Mind is empowered to self reflect and figure out its own frailties for necessary correction. But our sense of ego often deludes us when it owns our inherent tendencies. It does not let us dispassionately assess and acknowledge our inherent nature. In this respect, astrology may prove a very meaningful diagnostic tool.  For, it is premised on analysis of the energy map of a being at the time of birth, which speaks loud of one’s mind-trends. And energy knows no bias.

A mother worried about her grown up son’s intemperate behaviour, looking for some remedial measure, came asking the other day: “Please suggest some puja for a real course correction.” Well, anger or for that matter all habit tendencies are rooted in the deep realm of mind. No external intervention can resolve mental maladies. Had it been so easy, nobody would ever suffer because of one’s own fault-lines. The person concerned has to himself identify, acknowledge, and then resolve to get over his infirmities. And then consciously feed fresh educative inputs in mind, reflect upon them again and again to absorb them. Which when get firmly grounded, may begin to spontaneously influence one’s day-to-day-conduct.

look at her son’s astrological markers. He is born in Scorpio lagna with its lord Mars in debility. This by itself is enough to make him hot headed and ill-tempered. Further to that, Mars conjunct expansive Jupiter is ill-disposed off to its dire enemy Saturn, and mind signifying Moon. This points to being temperamental and aggressive, who may go wild on slightest provocation. He has an inflated ego, which binds him to his self-defined perceptions. He would be self-centric, and even insensitive to other’s sensibilities and concerns, as he has a wicked and revengeful mindset.

What further compounds his problem is that Venus conjunct Ketu is placed opposite Uranus and Neptune. This is indicative of carrying an intense urge to become quick rich, even if it calls for adopting unethical means. That also makes him vulnerable to perverse tendencies and drug addiction. So, the problem is much graver than what his mother thinks. And the only viable solution is to submit himself to a spiritual process under the guidance of a proven guru, and sincerely follow the measures prescribed.
