Vedanta Sharma, son of Snigdha Kumar and Praveen Kumar, a resident of Kadma, Jamshedpur, has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing admission to the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun. Vedanta, a dedicated student of Kavyapta Global School (formerly known as Mount Litera Zee School, Jamshedpur), has earned his place in one of India’s most esteemed military schools.
The Rashtriya Indian Military College, often referred to as the cradle of military leadership in India, is a prestigious institution that has shaped the careers of many high-ranking officers in the Indian Armed Forces. Located in the serene Doon Valley, RIMC serves as a feeder institution for the National Defence Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and the Indian Armed Forces. Established in 1922, the institution has a storied history of producing leaders of distinction not just in India, but also in Pakistan and Bangladesh.
With an expansive campus spread over 140 acres, RIMC is administered by the Union Ministry of Defence, under the Army Training Command, Shimla. The school maintains a commendable teacher-student ratio of 1:14, ensuring personalized attention and a rigorous academic environment for all its cadets.
Admission to RIMC is highly competitive, with only 25 cadets selected every six months from across India. Vedanra's selection is particularly significant as he has secured the sole seat allocated to the state of Jharkhand for this term. This achievement highlights his exceptional dedication, hard work, and potential as a future leader.
