In a bid to foster civic responsibility and encourage active participation in the democratic process, District Election Officer  Manish Kumar delivered an inspiring address to young voters at the Women's University in Bistupur Campus. The occasion marked a voter awareness program organized by the Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) of the college, aimed at galvanizing the youth to exercise their fundamental right to vote.

Addressing the students,  Manish Kumar emphasized the pivotal role young voters play in shaping the nation's future. He urged them to consider elections not merely as a holiday but as an opportunity to contribute to the democratic fabric of the country. Stressing the importance of electing representatives, he urged the young audience to play a leading role in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

As part of the event, girl students took a solemn voter's pledge, committing to casting their votes and motivating their family members to do the same.  Manish Kumar directed ELC members to prepare an action plan for various activities under the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, with the goal of achieving 100 percent voter turnout in the upcoming elections.

Activities under the SVEEP program included the selection of a campus icon, creation of slogans, rangoli, henna, and a signature campaign. The District Election Officer stressed the importance of raising awareness about the 1950 voter helpline number and ensuring that all students' names are registered in the voter list. Those whose names were absent were encouraged to fill out Form 6 through the Booth Level Officer (BLO) or the Voter App, while those needing corrections were advised to use Form 8.

 Manish Kumar motivated the youth with anecdotes and examples, illustrating the significance of exercising the right to vote. He underscored the responsibility every citizen bears towards nation-building and encouraged a shift in mindset from 'What will happen if I don't vote?' to 'What did I do if I did not vote?' The youth were urged to perceive elections not just as a holiday but as a festival, where they play a leading role in shaping the nation's destiny.

Present at the event were the University's ELC Nodal Professor Dr. Sonali Singh, Dr. Kishwar Ara, Amit Gunjan, and a large number of ELC Club members. The program concluded with a renewed sense of awareness and responsibility among the young voters of Women's University.
