Taniya, whose husband Subham had allegedly shot her in the head near Badasi Bridge on Thano Road in Dehradun on January 12 finally gave her statement to the police on Tuesday. Due to health issues, she gave her statement to the Raipur police in the presence of the magistrate in the Government Doon Medical College hospital where she is currently undergoing treatment. The Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh said that the police asked doctors about Taniya’s health and they informed that she can give a statement. She stated in her statement before the magistrate that her husband Shubham shot her in the head. The police will take further action in the case based on this statement. The SSP also said that Taniya’s health is better but still unstable.
It is pertinent to mention here that Taniya sustained a bullet injury in her head due to which her condition has been critical for about three weeks. The police arrested her husband on January 21 after he opened fire on police and shot a sub inspector in the stomach when a police team reached a homestay to nab him. He had also allegedly killed his father in Haryana's Sonipat in September last year, which is being investigated by Haryana police. Singh said that they are in touch with Haryana police and will take action in the case accordingly here.
