Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan approves 86 roads in Madhya Pradesh

Approving 86 roads in Madhya Pradesh and 18 in Chhattisgarh, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on Tuesday said remote villages are benefiting from all-weather roads under Prime Minister Modi.

"Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, villages across the country are increasingly being connected by all-weather roads," he said while announcing the approval for the roads.

The roads to be built under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana will measure a total of 216.86 kilometres and cost upwards of ?162 crore.

The approval covers various districts in Madhya Pradesh, including Anuppur, Vidisha, Balaghat, Jabalpur, and Guna. So far, a total of 311 roads measuring 844.34 kilometres have been sanctioned for the state.

Meanwhile, the central ministry has approved 18 roads in Chhattisgarh, measuring 128.15 kilometres at a cost of ?97.63 crore.

In Chhattisgarh, approvals have been granted for 12 roads in Kawardha and six in Narayanpur. To date, 1,590.843 kilometres of roads have been approved in Chhattisgarh. These all-weather roads will connect vulnerable tribal groups to the nation's mainstream.
