Principal Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Department Sunil Kumar has directed the officials of Ranchi Municipal Corporation to improve the condition of the roads of the capital and also start work towards repairing them as soon as possible along with ensuring that there is no waterlogging on the roads. The Principal Secretary said this while reviewing the development schemes going on in the Ranchi Corporation area at the State Secretariat Project Bhawan on Tuesday.
In the meeting, the Principal Secretary issued various instructions to the officials of RMC. The UDHD official has directed to immediately repair the potholes visible on the roads of the City and to ensure that street lights are lit in every area, if they are not working to replace them immediately and install lights where they are not.
Kumar also stated that there should be a bus terminal in the City for intercity buses and if there is, then civic amenities should be improved there. This instruction is for Itki Bus Terminal in Ratu Road and Dhurwa Bus Terminal.
The UDHD official also stated that industrial areas and IT parks should be developed in the City as per the Master Plan 2015. Kumar has also directed RMC to make provision for footpaths on the sides of the roads and to get them constructed so that pedestrians can reach their destination safely.
The Principal Secretary has stressed upon the use RFID for cleanliness so that it can be known whether garbage is being lifted from every house or every society every day or not. Kumar also asked RMC to complete the projects going on under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Ranchi city soon and also to identify areas in the city to encourage night markets like in big cities.
The UDHD official also instructed RMC to not cut the road here and there in the name of sewerage and drainage construction.
Along with the departmental Principal Secretary, State Urban Development Agency Director Amit Kumar, Additional Secretary Manohar Marandi, Additional Secretary Gyanendra Kumar, Ranchi Municipal Corporation Administrator Sandeep Singh, Joint Secretary Deepak Dubey, Joint Secretary Jyotshana Singh and other officials of Urban Development and Housing Department and Ranchi Municipal Corporation were present in the meeting.
