A mobile repair shop owner was allegedly stabbed to death by two boys after an argument between them over creating nuisance outside the workshop in Moti Nagar.
According to the police on Tuesday, the two juveniles have been apprehended. “On Sunday, at about 11 pm, an incident was reported at Moti Nagar police station regarding stabbing by some persons in front of Shop No. 11, Chara Mandi, Zakhira, Delhi,” DCP West Vichitra Veer said.
He added, “During the inquiry, it was revealed that a person named Iqbal, resident of Mansa Ram Park, Uttam Nagar, who runs a small shop of mobile repair, accessories and recharge in the area of Moti Nagar , has been stabbed by unknown persons.”
Iqbal tried to stop the boys from creating disturbance outside the shop. “Further enquiry revealed that Iqbal was with his nephew Abdul Mobin at his shop. Around 11 pm, he asked his nephew to close the counter. At that time, he saw two boys loitering near his shop, upon which he asked them to leave,” another senior official said.
A verbal spat ensued between them and one of the boys stabbed Iqbal multiple times outside the workshop. “Upon this, an altercation took place between them and those boys stabbed Iqbal multiple times. When Iqbal shouted for help, Abdul Mobin rushed to the scene and took him to ABG Hospital with neighbour Samshuddin, where he was declared dead,” the officer said.
In the later enquiry, the police revealed that Iqbal had scolded them earlier also for loitering around the shop, for which they already held a grudge against him. “A case of murder has been registered at Moti Nagar Police Station. Local informers were deployed and the identity of assailants was established, two persons, both juvenilles, were identified. They have been apprehended,” the DCP added.
