Three persons died on the spot when two trucks collided early on Saturday in the Kotdwar area. According to the police, a truck transporting cement which was not in operation due to a mechanical fault was being shifted to the side of the road. While this truck was being shifted to the side of the road, another truck loaded with sand collided with it. Due to the forceful collision of the two heavy vehicles, three persons died on the spot. The persons who died in the mishap were identified as Sohan Singh (40), Ashok (40) who was the driver of one of the trucks and Swaran Singh (60) who was the owner and driver of the other truc. All of the three men who died in the mishap were residents of Kashipur area of Kotdwar. On being informed about the accident, the police reached the site and began operations to retrieve the casualties. The police informed that the bodies were sent for post mortem examination and that the next of kin of the deceased would be informed about the mishap.
