The Mithila Cultural Council, a renowned social and cultural organization of the Maithil community, held a grand ceremony on Monday evening at the Mithila Academy Public School campus in Sector 4, Bokaro, to unveil the statue of Mahakavi Vidyapati. The event was presided over by the Council's President, Anil Kumar, and Mithila Academy Public School's Chairman, Hari Mohan Jha including vice president Avinash Jha among other dignitaries.
In his address, Anil Kumar emphasized the significance of Vidyapati in Indian literature, highlighting his prominent role in the tradition of romance and devotion. Hari Mohan Jha echoed these sentiments, praising Vidyapati's contributions to the development of Indian literature. The event also featured a musical tribute with performances of Vidyapati's songs, captivating the audience.
The ceremony was attended by several notable figures including senior writers, cultural leaders, and council members, who were honored with traditional Maithil attire and Mithila paintings. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Rajendra Kumar, a permanent invitee of the council.
