Wednesday, 17 January 2024 | PNS | Chandigarh

Special camps were conducted on Monday in all tehsils and sub-tehsils across Punjab to address pending mutation cases. The initiative, aimed at streamlining administrative processes and providing hassle-free services, witnessed a massive response, with a total of 50,796 mutation cases resolved in these two camps.

The state Revenue Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa on Tuesday shared that the first camp, organized on Saturday, January 6, successfully resolved 31,538 cases, while the second camp on Monday addressed an additional 19,258 cases. Minister Jimpa personally visited camp sites at Balachaur, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, and Patiala on January 15 to assess progress, interacting with people to ensure the effective functioning of the camps.

Highlighting the success of the special camps, the Minister informed that people were able to get their pending mutations addressed on the spot. He underscored the State Government’s commitment to minimize public inconvenience by providing essential services efficiently.

Encouraging the citizens to report any issues faced in revenue offices, the Minister assured swift resolution through a dedicated helpline (8184900002) for local complaints and a separate number (9464100168) for the NRIs.

As part of the government’s transparency initiative, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has been conducting surprise visits to Tehsil Offices to assess the functionality of revenue offices. Minister urged the citizens not to hesitate in reporting any instances of bribery demands from officials, ensuring prompt action for maintaining transparent administration across the state.

Late-night reports on Monday highlighted that Ludhiana district witnessed the highest number of mutations with 3,528 cases in the second camp. Additionally, Amritsar recorded 508 cases, Barnala 353, Bathinda 623, Fatehgarh Sahib 646, Fazilka 733, and other districts reported varying numbers of resolved mutation cases.
