SLBC receives Award for Excellence for achieving 158% APY target

State Level Banking Committee (SLBC) Jharkhand has been awarded the Award of Excellence for achieving 158 per cent traget under the medium category in the first quarter of the financial year 2024-25 under the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) run by PFRDA .


As of June 30, the total enrollment in Jharkhand under APY was 20,32,578. As compared to June 2023 last year, an increase of 25.78 per cent has been registered in the enrollment under APY in June 2024 this year. In the first quarter of June 2024, the state has made 84,941 APY enrollments.


The State Level Review Program of APY was organized mutually by SLBC and PFRDA on Friday. Whole Time Member, Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) Head Office, Delhi, Mamta Shankar specially attended this meeting. 

 

In his address, Deputy General Manager, Bank of India and Convener, SLBC CH Gopala Krishna,  welcomed the Lead District Managers of all the districts and representatives of various banks, senior officials of RBI and NABARD and representatives of various departments of the State Government. He also congratulated all the stakeholders for achieving 158 per cent against the total target of APY in the financial year 2023-24 due to the combined efforts of all stakeholders.


Assistant General Manager, RBI, Alfred Girish Tirkey, in his speech said that the notable aspect of APY is its inclusiveness. He further said that APY is open to all citizens between the age of 18 to 40 years, irrespective of their income level or employment status.

Chief Operating Officer, JSLPS, Bishnu Charan Parida in his speech said that APY is a landmark initiative that has the power to transform the lives of millions of individuals in our beloved state of Jharkhand and secure their future. He urged the banks to focus on enrollment of rural people so that their lives can be better after the age of 60. 

 

Mamta Shankar spoke about gender inclusion in APY enrollment, which will be very relevant for a state like Jharkhand where women are the major workforce in the unorganized sector.

In the last session of the meeting, a business review through PPT by Priyanka Gupta, Deputy General Manager, PFRA discussed the performance of the bank and district in the state of Jharkhand. Pakur, Sahibganj, Latehar and Chatra in the district were awarded the Award of Excellence by PFRDA for their outstanding performance in the year 2023-24. At the same time, Jharkhand Rajya Gramin Bank, SBI, Bank of India and Kotak Mahindra Bank were also awarded the Award of Excellence in the bank.

The meeting was concluded with the vote of thanks by Sanjay Kumar, Assistant General Manager, Jharkhand State Rural Bank.
