School kids are braving intense cold conditions to reach school in the early morning hours as state capital has witnessed mercury to the lowest in a day ago.
The timings have been adjusted to provide relief the students still cold conditions are harsh to bear.
In the state many cities are experiencing cold like December-January. This time month of November in Bhopal is the coldest in 36 years.
The mercury has reached 8.2 degree celsius. At the same time, the mercury is below 7 degree celsius in Mandla and Shahdol. The effect of severe cold is likely to remain on the last day of November as well. There will be a period of severe cold in December.
The difference between day and night temperatures has narrowed in the past one week. The jet stream is flowing at a speed of 234 kilometers per hour over West-North India. This average is 8 to 10Km in the cities of Madhya Pradesh.
Due to this, there is severe cold in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior-Jabalpur as well as small cities. On Friday, people shivered due to cold winds. To avoid this, they kept wearing warm clothes throughout the day.
Meteorologist said, right now the height of the jet stream wind is 12.6 km. When it flows down, the effect of cold will intensify. Apart from this, a cyclonic circulation system is active in the eastern part and a deep depression is active over the south-western Bay of Bengal. Its effect is also being seen in the state.
