Sarsi Island to be connected to BTR and Sanjay National Park to promote tourism

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is full of tourism diversities. Seeing Sarsi Island in Revanchal gives the feeling of Goa and Andaman Nicobar. Madhya Pradesh tourism is full of diversities and various specialties.

Tourism in the state attracts people from all over the world. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Madhya Pradesh is continuously moving on the path of development. Jankalyan Parv is being celebrated in the state on the completion of one year of the state government.

New dimensions of development are being created in this every day. New beginnings are being made every day in the Jankalyan festival. Sarsi Island has been beautifully developed on 5 hectares on the island of Ban Sagar by the Tourism Development Corporation at Rs 29 crore.

This will give a new dimension to the tourism of the state. State Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the dedication ceremony of Sarsi Island at Ban Sagar Dam in Shahdol district. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, Minister of State for Tourism and Endowments (Independent Charge) Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi, Beohari MLA Sharad Kol, District Panchayat President Prabha Mishra were specially present.

Ilaiah Raja T, Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation welcomed the guests.

Chief Minister Yadav said that to promote tourism of Sarsi Island, it will be connected to Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve and Sanjay National Park. Water tourism will also be promoted in Bansagar Dam. Chief Minister Yadav met child artist (singer) Manya Pandey of Vindhya region and inquired about her well-being. He also announced a reward of Rs 51 thousand for Manya. He also played Jhanjh-Kartal with tribal folk artists visiting Sarsi Island. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also announced to give a prize of Rs 5 thousand to each member of the music groups.

Yadav reviews the facilities made for tourists on Sarsi Island. The island has a tourist amenity centre, 3 boat clubs, 10 residential rooms, a restaurant and bar, a conference hall, a gym, a library, a children's ‘play area, and other sports facilities like badminton, table tennis, star-grabbing, sand volleyball, cycling, etc. facilities, landscaping and garden development, besides a 40 KW capacity solar system has been installed. Sarsi Island has been connected to Markandeya Ghat in district Maihar and Itma Ghat in Umaria district. Boat Club and Jetty 4 speed boat, jet ski, mini cruise, a driver dormitory, parking, cafeteria, and public facilities have been developed. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav appreciated the efforts of the Tourism Development Corporation by watching a short film focused on Sarsi Island. The Chief Minister also released a brochure based on Sarsi Island.

Yadav inspected the Boat Club in Sarsi Island and also went for boating. The prize winners of the boating competition organized by the Tourism Development Corporation were awarded.

During the presentation of tribal artists from Birhulia village who were invited by the Tourism Development Corporation, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was present and encouraged them and also played Jhanjh-Kartal along with them. Manya Pandey of Vindhya region presented the song “CM Vindhya ko rahe sajaye, hamare CM sabko bhaaye, sab rahe sukh-chain ke saath”.
