The wax figure of Swami Ramdev was unveiled by the renowned Madame Tussauds, New York in Delhi. After the unveiling programme, Swami Ramdev said that this epitomised the growing influence of Indian culture on the global stage, adding that the Indian culture could not be constricted in the figures of the Indian icons standing in the Madame Tussauds, New York. He further said he felt proud over the fact that the Ayurveda/Yoga surge now sweeping across the world had been started by Patanjali.
While thanking Madame Tussauds for spending Rs two crore on making this replica, he said that this was a tribute paid not to an individual but to the timeless heritage inherent in the Sanatan Dharma, Ayurveda and Yoga.
“I received offers of Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan which I politely rejected because a saint is above both adoration and contempt,” he said and added that all the people born in the lap of Bharat Mata were Bharat Ratnas.
