Private schools will no longer be able to change uniforms and books every year. Parents will have to be informed a year in advance about the academic session in which they will change uniforms or books. At the same time, books and uniforms will be available at all the shops.
Bhopal Collector will issue an order regarding this within a week. On the other hand, lines of parents were also seen at city shops to buy children's books. Books are being given the next day if the token is taken a day in advance.
Bhopal Collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh said that the order will break the monopoly of private schools. No school operator will be able to put any pressure on parents for uniforms and books. Otherwise, FIR will be registered against them. For this, orders have been issued under Section 144 in March. Teams have also been formed at the SDM-Tehsildar level, which will take strict action if complaints are received. Currently, most of the parents have purchased books and uniforms, but the order will be implemented effectively for the next sessions.
At the Gurukul stationery shop located on Kolar Road, the books for a class three child were priced at Rs 5355, whereas these books were not found in other shops.
The family members of a Class 3 student studying in St Joseph's Co-Ed School, Kolar Road, reached Gurukul Stationary Shop on Kolar Road to collect books. Here the shutter of the shop was half open. Inside the shop itself, there was a queue of family members of the students for tokens. There were about 20 people in the line then.
An hour later, the book store salesman gave a token, numbered C-008. Promised to deliver the accompanying books on Tuesday afternoon. The set of books was delivered to the family members of the student who reached the book stall at around 4.30 pm on Tuesday afternoon.
Due to the long queue at the book stall located in Kolar for the books of class 3 of St Joseph's Co-Ed School, the family members of the students went to Books & Books located at MP Nagar Zone-2 and Gurukul Book Stall located at No. 11 Market to buy books. But, the salesmen of both the book stalls informed that the books of St. Joseph's Co-Ed School, Kolar were not available in the stall. Also advised to go to Gurukul Book Stall located on Kolar Road for books.
No private school can change the syllabus every year.
Whenever there is any change, it will be necessary to take permission from the Collector and DEO.
The publisher who has the book or dress will publish it for everyone. Any shopkeeper will be able to buy it and sell it.
The publisher will also have to give books to all the book sellers.
Uniforms will also be available from all the shops.
At present the situation is that books of all the publishers remain with the same shopkeeper. In such a situation, parents are forced to buy books from only one shop. One has to pay an arbitrary price for this also.
Earlier, Collector Singh had also issued orders under Section 144 on March 12. In this also, orders were given regarding monopoly. For this, teams have also been formed under the leadership of SDM.
Be it uniform or books, or any kind of stationery. Right now parents have to pay their arbitrary price. Sets of books from class 1st to 8th are available for Rs 2500 to Rs 6000. If parents go to other shops, it is not available there. Same is the case with uniforms also. Uniforms with school logos are available only from designated shops. Parents are also forced to buy belts and ties at arbitrary prices. Last year, the district administration team had also taken action by conducting surprise inspections at uniform and book shops. This time too, action is being claimed on receiving the complaint.
