Providing better health facilities to people priority of Govt: CM

Friday, 30 August 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

Chief Minister Hemant Soren today said that the government has made a large number of appointments in various departments in the last 4 years to run the system in a strong and systematic manner. This series of appointments is continuing. Today the state government is posting 365 Community Health Officers (CHOs) in various community health centers of the state. All the newly appointed Community Health Officers will work as an integral part of the state government from today. All the newly appointed CHOs are becoming such a link of the state government, where they will have big responsibilities of the health sector on their shoulders. The system of the state government in the health sector has to be easily delivered to the general public through them only, hence their role will be important in the creation of a healthy Jharkhand.

The CM was addressing the appointment letter distribution ceremony of 365 community health officers in the auditorium of Project Bhawan on Thursday. On this occasion, he symbolically handed over the appointment letter to 5 CHOs.

Soren said that before this we have appointed veterinary doctors, medical officers. Lab assistants have also been appointed. For the first time, scientists have been appointed for forensic labs. A-grade nurses have also been appointed along with AYUSH doctors, dentists. He said that even in challenging times, his government has appointed agriculture officers, officers in horticulture, panchayat secretaries, clerks, accountants, teachers, junior engineers, assistant engineers. He said that thousands of appointments have been made and many appointments are in process.

Soren, while addressing the CHOs, said that you know the geographical structure of Jharkhand state, the social system here and the mentality of the people here. You just have to understand how health services can be easily delivered to the people. Surrounded by forests, mountains, rivers and streams, this beautiful state has such villages where people have not seen a city till date and neither do they have much to do with the government system. Even today, many people are engaged in traditional methods of health treatment based on incomplete knowledge of exorcism and herbs. Due to this, sometimes such incidents are heard, which is a matter of concern. Therefore, all of you have to connect with faith towards the health of the people of the state. He said that all the newly appointed CHOs are also in the dual role of doctor and nurse. Overall, all of you will be in the role of all-rounder players of the health department.

The CM said that better work cannot be done unless we have manpower. Today is the age of technology. Now gradually robotic system is making its place in all things. Industries have been completely mechanized. The utility of machines has increased in the field of health as well, but even then people go to different states for good doctors and good health facilities. At the same time, due to good doctors in Jharkhand, patients from other states also come here. Your role should also be such that people are drawn towards you.

The CM said that we are constantly making efforts regarding the health department. The way the state government has made an action plan for the health sector, very soon we will provide a strong health system in this state, so that no one from here needs to go to other states for treatment. He said that the common people will remain healthy only when the health department itself remains healthy. For this, a provision of Rs 5 crore has been made in the annual budget, so that the cleanliness and maintenance of health centers can be done in a better way.

He said that under the Chief Minister Hospital Operation and Maintenance Scheme, the government is providing Rs 75 lakh to the district's Sadar Hospitals, Rs 50 lakh to the sub-divisional hospital, Rs 10 lakh to the Community Health Center / Referral Hospital and Rs 5 lakh to the Primary Health Center, Rs 2 lakh per year to the Health Sub Center / Ayushman Arogya Center.

On this occasion, Health Minister Banna Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Avinash Kumar, Departmental Principal Secretary Ajoy Kumar Singh along with other senior officials and newly appointed CHO were present.
