Probe ordered into community building’s luxurious expenses

Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao on Wednesday announced a high-level probe into the alleged irregularities in arranging luxurious facilities at a community building which was under possession of the wife of former Minister Shiv Kumar Daharia.

Sao announced this after the matter was raised by BJP legislator Rajesh Munat.

Flouting the rules the Urban Administration Department of which Daharia was Minister, money was sanctioned for luxurious items for the building of Rajshree Sadbhawana Samiti in Shatabdi Nagar, Munat alleged.

The wife of Daharia Shakun had the possession of the said building, he said. 

Leader of Opposition Charan Das Mahant objected to the discussion saying the matter was with the judiciary.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Minister said although a petition has been moved at the High Court, the government had taken possession of the building in which the Raipur Municipal Corporation and Smart City Project had spent around Rs 1 crore.

C’garh Assembly adjourned sine die

The Chhattisgarh Assembly was on Wednesday adjourned sine die with mutual consent of the Treasury and opposition benches.

“The budget session is aborted two days earlier after mutual consent,” said Speaker Raman Singh.

He thanked Leader of the House Vishnu Deo Sai, Leader of Opposition Charan Das Mahant and Assembly Secretary Dinesh Sharma for cooperating in the smooth function of the House.
