The central region power distributor on Tuesday announced that it had terminated the services of 42 outsourced employees and issued warnings to 40 others for dereliction of duty.
The terminated employees include 33 meter readers who were found to be negligent in their assigned tasks, which require them to collect photographic evidence while recording meter readings.
The terminated workers were based in the districts of Raisen, Sehore, Datia, Rajgarh, Bhopal, Gwalior, Betul, Bhopal Rural, Gwalior Rural, Harda, Morena, Narmadapuram, Sheopur, Shivpuri, and Vidisha.
The Managing Director of the Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company (MKVVCL), Kshitij Singhal, has instructed field officers and staff to ensure accurate meter readings and proper billing for consumers.
