Saturday, 14 December 2024 | PNS | Mahakumbh Nagar

In preparation for the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Akshayavat on Friday, where he performed a sacred worship to seek blessings for the successful organisation of the event, the welfare of the world, and the prosperity of India.

As the ‘Yajman,’ PM Modi performed puja at the Sangam Nose and later at the revered Akshayavat, offering prayers and performing rituals to invoke divine grace. He bowed before the sacred tree, performed ‘Pradakshina,’ and lit a ceremonial lamp for positive energy.

PM Modi also reviewed the corridor development projects around Akshayavat to ensure smooth and accessible visits for millions of devotees expected during Maha Kumbh 2025. Akshayavat is revered as the embodiment of Lord Vishnu’s Veni Madhav, the protector deity of Prayagraj. It is believed to house the presence of Lord Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, making it a powerful spiritual centre. The Akshayavat

Corridor development, led by PM Modi’s vision and implemented by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is set to enhance accessibility for pilgrims.

During his visit, PM Modi offered prayers at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, ahead of the Maha Kumbh festival, which will take place from January 13 to February 26.

The prime minister performed aarti at the Triveni, seeking blessings for global welfare and harmony. The rituals were conducted by ‘Tirth Purohits,’ with Vedic mantras resonating in the background.

PM Modi also offered Akshat, Chandan, Roli, flowers, and traditional clothing during the ceremony, which was accompanied by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel.

PM Modi arrived at the Sangam Nose via the Nishadraj Cruise and was warmly received by CM Yogi and Governor Patel.

He took a brief stroll on the cruise, admiring the Yamuna River, before interacting with saints and receiving a pearl garland as a blessing. The prime minister then participated in a special ceremony at a pandal near the Sangam, where he performed rituals, including ‘Jalabhishek’ and ‘Dudhbhishek’, followed by the Sangam Aarti.

In addition to the Triveni Pujan, PM Modi conducted the sacred ‘Kumbhabhishek’ of the Kumbh Kalash, a vessel crafted from Ashtadhatu and studded with precious gems.

The Kumbh Kalash, symbolising the sanctity of the Kumbh, was adorned with mango leaves, a coconut, and sacred materials like Gangajal and Panchratna.

PM Modi’s visit to Mahakumbh Nagar marked the beginning of preparations for the grand event, which is expected to draw millions of devotees.

Prior to the rituals, PM Modi met prominent saints from across India, including representatives from 13 Akharas. He sought their blessings for the success of the Maha Kumbh and the nation’s holistic development.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath facilitated the interactions, ensuring that the prime minister connected personally with the saints.

Mahant Jamuna Puri of Shri Panchayati Akhara Maha Nirvani shared that PM Modi asked for their blessings, while Acharya Devendra Singh Shastri of Shri Panchayati Akhara Nirmal remarked that the saints supported the prime minister’s efforts for the grand success of the event.

PM Modi’s visit underscored the significance of the Maha Kumbh as not only a spiritual event but also a testament to India’s rich cultural heritage and leadership in promoting global peace.
