Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Friday, lashed out at the opposition parties, accusing them of resorting to baseless allegations in the wake of Bharatiya Janata Party’s resounding victory in the recent by-elections to nine Uttar Pradesh assembly seats.
Flaying the opposition’s attempts to discredit the success of the party, he emphasised that their defeat had left them nervous and unable to cope with the BJP’s growing influence. He assured that the party would achieve an even more decisive victory in the UP assembly elections in 2027.
Yogi Adityanath was addressing the felicitation ceremony of the newly elected MLAs in the by-elections at the BJP headquarters on Friday. During this, he praised the newly elected MLAs, party workers, ministers and party office-bearers for their hard work and dedication during the by-elections.
He said, “With teamwork and unity, even the impossible can be achieved.”
Yogi Adityanath highlighted that under the inspiration, guidance and leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the National Democratic Alliance had achieved significant victories: a hat-trick in Haryana, a landslide win in Maharashtra, and seven out of the nine assembly seats in the Uttar Pradesh by-elections.
He emphasised that the strategy to win seven seats was formulated even before the by-elections, and it was successfully implemented on the ground by the party organisation and workers.
Yogi Adityanath credited the party’s strategic planning and the collective efforts of workers and office-bearers for victories in constituencies like Kundarki and Katehari. He pointed out that areas where there were doubts about the possibility of victory, the BJP not only triumphed but also strengthened its position. He cited the record-breaking win in Kundarki by 1.45 lakh votes as a prime example of this success.
Emphasising the party’s ideology and the dedication of its workers, Yogi Adityanath stated that the BJP has the ability to turn every challenge into an opportunity. He added that this success will instil fear in the opposition ahead of the 2027 Vidhan Sabha elections.
Yogi Adityanath stressed the need to meet the expectations of the people and ensure that the government’s schemes reach every individual through extensive public outreach. “This will make our victory in 2027 even bigger,” he added.
He also specifically acknowledged Surendra Diler, the victorious candidate from Khair assembly constituency, and mentioned his father, former MP and MLA Rajveer Singh Diler. He stated that the party always stands by the families of its workers.
Yogi Adityanath urged the newly elected MLAs to make the most of the remaining two and a half years of their tenure by establishing better communication with the public and working closely with the organisation. He emphasised the need to draw inspiration from successes and learn from failures. “If we continue to work with this collective spirit, the BJP will win with a thundering majority in 2027,” he said.
The felicitation ceremony celebrated the success of the BJP and its ally Rashtriya Lok Dl’s candidates. Those felicitated included Mithilesh Pal (RLD) from Meerapur, and Ramveer Singh) from Kundarki, Deepak Patel from Phulpur, Surendra Diler from Khair, Sanjeev Sharma from Ghaziabad, Dharmaraj Nishad from Katehari and Suchismita Maurya from Majhawan (all of the BJP).
The event was attended by BJP state president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, party state general secretary (organisation) Dharmapal, cabinet ministers Surya Pratap Shahi, Swatantra Dev Singh, Suresh Khanna, Sanjay Nishad, Anil Kumar, and other prominent leaders.
