NIAMT student died after drowning in a pond in Hatia, Ranchi. The incident happened on Saturday afternoon. The student had gone to take bath in a pond near Bhukdi bridge in Dhurva Smart City with his friends. During this time he drowned and died.
After getting information about the incident, Dhurva police reached. The police took the body in their custody and sent it to RIMS for post-mortem. Along with this, the family members were also informed about it.
The deceased student has been identified as Jalli Akash. He was originally from Andhra Pradesh. He was a second semester student at the National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology Hatia here. He was studying while staying in the hostel of NIFT. According to the information received, he had gone to take bath in the pond with his friends. During this time he started drowning in the deep water of the pond. Friends sought help from the people around. After this, the local people jumped into the pond to save him. After this, he was taken out, but by then he had died.
After this, the Dhurva police was informed about the incident. The police immediately reached the spot and took the body in their custody and sent it for postmortem. Jalli Akash's family members have also been informed about this. Further action will be taken only after the family members arrive.
