A MoU was signed by Management Training Institute, SAIL and Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi on 30.3.2024 at MTI Ranchi.
The MoU was signed by Asish Chakraborty, ED (HRD), MTI and Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi. Also present on the occasion were Prof. Rojers Puthur Joseph, Chairperson-Executive Education Committee, IIM Ranchi, Prof. Varun Elembilassery, Chairperson-Corporate Relations, IIM Ranchi, S K Verma, ED (CET) SAIL, Ved Prakash ED (SDTD), SAIL and other senior officers from SAIL Ranchi Units.
Sanjay Dhar, CGM (HRD) welcomed the dignitaries and set the perspective for the event. Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, DirectorIIM Ranchi gave insightful information about IIM Ranchi and emphasised on a meaningful collaboration between the two institutes. Asish Chakraborty, ED (HRD) highlighted the importance for Industry – Academia collaboration and expressed confidence that this MoU will prove to be a milestone in the relationship between SAIL and IIM Ranchi.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is an Expression of Agreement between Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi (IIMR) and Management Training Institute (MTI), SAIL to collaborate on academic activities and HRD interventions.
The major areas of collaboration are:
1. Organising training programmes for MTI-nominated participants by IIMR through Open Programmes or customised Programmes of IIMR.
2. Joint training programmes for a third party in areas of common interest, particularly in the steel and allied sectors.
3. Faculty support from IIMR on a continuous basis for MTI programmes as per need.
4. Faculty support from MTI in training programmes of IIMR.
5. Joint research, and development of case studies leading to publications.
6. Joint consultancy for Third Party.
7. Certification of Programmes at MTI with design and Faculty Input from IIMR.
8. Access to data and literature from IIMR to MTI and vice versa.
9. Any other areas that may be jointly decided by the Parties to further the objectives of this MoU.
