BJP state president Babulal Marandi today congratulated JMM executive president Hemant Soren and his party on social media for winning the Jharkhand assembly elections. He said that this election result is unexpected for us, but in democracy the decision of the people is paramount. We respect the mandate. BJP will review these results thoroughly.

BJP's acting state president Dr. Ravindra Rai addressed a press conference at the state office on November 23. On this occasion, he said that we went among the people with our promises. We welcome the decision given by the people. We congratulate Hemant Soren ji, who is the leader leading the Indi alliance. He has got the support of the people. Many congratulations to him on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party with the hope that the promises made to the people will not be forgotten like in 2019. Whatever promises have been made this time, they will be fulfilled.

He said that the people have entrusted the BJP with the responsibility of playing the role of a strong opposition. I bow to the people for the support they received in every assembly constituency of Jharkhand. I accept their order.

He said that I would like to reiterate that we will play the strong role of opposition that we have got in democracy. We will also cooperate positively to protect the interests of Jharkhand. If needed, we will also struggle.

Dr Rai said that along with this election, elections have also been held in Maharashtra. The Bharatiya Janata Party contested the election as Mahayuti under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. With an unexpected lead of 228 out of 288 assembly seats, the people there have supported the BJP-led alliance. They have given them a chance to form the government. I congratulate the people of Maharashtra on my behalf. We are happy with the victory in Maharashtra.

Dr Rai said that we will review the results of Jharkhand. We will think about it. We will brainstorm. We will reiterate that we have created Jharkhand, so whatever role BJP has to play as the opposition to protect the interests of Jharkhand, we will play it strongly. We will keep an eye on the public not to be fooled, their rights should not be violated. We will be cautious.

Dr Rai said that there is a need to worry that the leaders of the Indy alliance should not question the EVMs, because in Maharashtra they are questioning the EVMs and saying that BJP and its allies have won because of the EVMs. It is possible that they may question the EVMs here as well. If they do, it is welcome. Democracy has won the elections. We welcome the decision of democracy.
