Man held for killing wife in Lohardaga

On the basis of secret information received by Superintendent of Police Haris Bin Zaman, the accused who brutally murdered his wife was arrested and sent to jail. While giving information to the media personnel, Headquarters DSP Sameer Kumar Tirkey said that Bhandra Police Station Case No. 50/2024 Dated 20.08.2024 Section 103 (1) FIR of BMS Accused Benami Malar, age about 42 years, father Nehru Malar who was originally Village Navni under Gumla district, Ghaghra district Gumla. Present resident is Malar Basti Pahad Toli of Bhandra police station area. 

 

A team was formed under the leadership of Bhandra police station in-charge Arvind Singh, raided the possible locations and was duly arrested and sent to judicial custody. DSP Sameer Kumar Tirkey said that on the night of August 19, he was absconding due to fear of arrest after killing his wife Rakhi Devi by killing her with a spade. As soon as information was received at Chandwa Tori railway station that he was planning to flee to a far-flung city by train, a raid team was immediately formed by SP Haris Bin Zaman. Thereafter, a plan was made to arrest the said accused and the raiding team, with the help of Latehar district police, searched the accused around Tori station. Thereafter, the said accused was seen coming out of an open place to shave his beard at a footpath salon shop in the market, who tried to run away after seeing the police, but was caught by the police force. During interrogation, the said person revealed his name as Benami Malar, age 42 years, father, Nehru Malar, village Pavani police station Ghaghra under Gumla district, present address Malar Basti Pahar Toli under Bhandra police station area of Lohardaga district.

 

 He also told that he had murdered his wife on the night of 19th August by killing her with a hoe kept in his house. DSP Sameer Kumar Tirkey said that the accused also confessed before the police that due to fear of being caught by the police, Tori had come to the railway station in preparation to go to another city by train. He also admitted to throwing the spade in the bush located next to the courtyard after the incident, which was duly seized by the Bhandara police station after the incident from the bush near the house of the accused. DSP said that on August 20, it was duly picked up by the team of FSL Ranchi and sent to the police station for investigation and sent to Forensic Science Laboratory, Ranchi. DSP Sameer Kumar Tirkey said that the items seized from the accused included an Itel company's keypad with mobile SIM, Rs 100 in cash from the pocket, a blanket which was taken in a plastic bag and the spade used in the incident which was earlier recovered from the spot. Seized. DSP said that no previous criminal history of the murdered husband has been found. The raiding team included Bhandra police station in-charge Arvind Singh, Sub Inspector Pappu Kumar and other policemen of Bhandra police station and patrolling team of Latehar district.
