Shahjahanabad police arrested an absconding habitual criminal in a case of attempt to murder; accused along with his aide attacked a man on January 24.

The accused Zaid Sheikh alias Zaid RTO (28) of Nariyalkheda  was arrested and produced before the court and was sent under judicial custody.

On January 24, the accused attacked Zuber Salmani resident of Bagh Munshi Hussain Khan and based on the complaint after preliminary investigation section 341, 294, 323, 324, 307, 34 IPC was registered against accused Zaid RTO and another unknown accused and started investigation.

During the investigation, the other accused in the case, Saeed alias Shaheed Khan was arrested on February 2 and section 25 of the Arms Act. The accused is currently serving in the central jail while accused Zaid Shaikh alias Zaid RTO was absconding since the date of the incident.

The accused has been booked for 12 crimes in different police stations of the state capital.

On Tuesday acting on a tip off, the accused was arrested from Nariyalkheda. Police would investigate who had helped in  absconding and crimes committed during the time of absconding.

Meanwhile Misrod police have arrested a vehicle lifter and seized vehicle worth Rs 90000, accused used to work as a delivery boy for Zomato using the stolen vehicle and used to do recce in colonies for stealing vehicles.

The accused hit another vehicle driving the stolen scooter carelessly and escaped leaving the scooter at the spot.

From the accused master key, screwdriver and pliers used in the incident were seized.

 On February 24 the complainant reported that his brother met with an accident near Capital Mall, on verification of which, the Activa vehicle which caused the accident was found to be stolen from Purani Basti of Baghsewania on February 17. After the accident, the accused left the vehicle and fled from the spot.

On the basis of technical resources and accurate information from the informer, information was received about the said accused doing delivery work in Zomato.
