In a significant step towards enhancing security and streamlining law enforcement processes, Kolhan Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Manoj Ratan Chote, IPS, along with Superintendent of Police, Seraikela Kharsawan, Mukesh Kumar Lunayat, IPS, will inaugurate the Hotel Guest Verification System on August 12 at Hotel Cruze in Seraikela. This initiative, a collaborative effort between the Jamshedpur Hotel and Restaurant Association (JHRA) and the Saraikela District Police, represents a major technological advancement in Jharkhand's approach to law enforcement.
The need for a more efficient police verification process for hotel guests was identified by the JHRA, who brought the issue to the attention of the Jamshedpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP). The previous system was noted for its complexity and inefficiency, making it difficult for law enforcement to monitor potential criminal activities effectively. In response to these concerns, the State National Informatics Center (NIC) Jharkhand, under the guidance of Dr. Piyush Gupta, Ex SIO Director, developed a specialized software solution.
This new Hotel Guest Verification System, set to debut in Seraikela District, is the first of its kind in Jharkhand. The software enables hotels, local police stations, and district police departments to upload and access guest information seamlessly, significantly enhancing the efficiency of the verification process. By facilitating easier access to guest data, the system is expected to improve the ability of law enforcement to track and prevent illegal activities.
Joint Director of NIC, Kishore Prasad, highlighted the importance of this software in simplifying hotel operations while simultaneously bolstering security measures. Ravish Ranjan, President of JHRA, echoed these sentiments, noting that the system will provide a hassle-free experience for hotel operators and contribute to public safety.
In addition to the launch of the verification system, the appointment of a Tourism Police Nodal Officer was also announced. This appointment underscores the district's commitment to ensuring the safety of tourists and maintaining public order, reflecting a proactive approach to addressing the needs of both residents and visitors.
The inauguration ceremony will be attended by several prominent officials, including Dipak Kumar, Senior Director cum SIO, Kishore Prasad, Joint Director (IT) NIC, Jamshedpur, Prashant Kumar Sinha, Deputy Director (IT) NIC, Ranchi, and Saroj Kumar Rajan, Deputy Director (IT) NIC, Ranchi, as well as Rituraj Priyadarshi, DIO Seraikela Kharsawan. These individuals have played crucial roles in the development and implementation of this pioneering project.
“ The launch of the Hotel Guest Verification System represents a forward-thinking approach to law enforcement in the region, with the potential for broader application across Jharkhand. This initiative not only enhances security but also signals a commitment to leveraging technology to improve public safety and streamline administrative processes,” said an official.
