As the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Parivartan Yatra continues, the State government has launched its own initiative— Mainiyan Samman Yatra , spearheaded by Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s wife and Gandey MLA, Kalpana Soren. The Yatra, which aims to connect with and empower women, reached Yekala on Friday, drawing widespread support from local communities.
The event saw participation from key political figures including Minister Baby Devi, Deepika Singh Pandey, Ramdas Soren, and MP Joba Manjhi, alongside numerous Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leaders and workers. At every stop, particularly in Kandra, thousands of women turned out to greet Kalpana Soren, offering her a warm and spirited reception.
In a moment highlighting her connection with the people, Kalpana Soren climbed onto the bonnet of her car to wave at the crowd, acknowledging the overwhelming support. Traditional ceremonies were conducted by party leaders as a show of respect, while supporters reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring JMM’s victory in the Yakela Assembly constituency.
The Mainiyan Samman Yatra continues to generate significant momentum, with many viewing it as a powerful movement that emphasizes the role of women in Jharkhand’s political and social fabric.
