Hassle-free delivery of public services is Govt’s topmost priority: Hry CM directs officers

Friday, 13 December 2024 | PNS | Gurugram/Kurukshetra

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday said that ensuring hassle-free delivery of public services is the utmost priority of the state Government and for this, the officers concerned of all departments must visit the field to ensure that the services are provided to the public without any delay. "No laxity will be tolerated and strict action will be taken against any officer if complaints are received from the citizens," Saini warned.

Presiding over the District Public Relations and Grievances Committee meeting in Gurugram, Saini issued strict directions to the officers concerned to ensure cleanliness in the district. Special attention should be given to cleanliness in the city to make Gurugram clean and beautiful, he added.

The Chief Minister said that during the next month's meeting, he would personally see the steps taken by the officers concerned to ensure cleanliness in Gurugram. Ensure that the general public should not face any problem due to unclean surroundings, said  Saini.

During the meeting, a total of 23 grievances were tabled before the Chief Minister, of which 19 were resolved on the spot. He directed the officers to submit the status report of the remaining complaints tabled in the meeting.

Saini, while taking cognizance of the issue related to the treated water quality from all Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs), directed that the quality of treated water be regularly checked for a clean environment. He further directed that officers ensure that after lab tests, the water should only be provided to farmers for agricultural work.

On the occasion, taking strict cognizance of a complaint regarding illegal encroachment on government land in village Sarai Alawardi, the Chief Minister directed the municipal corporation officers to immediately remove all illegal encroachments from the land. A community hall should be constructed on this land to provide better facilities for public events, he directed.

While hearing complaints regarding sewerage issues from different areas, Saini directed the officers concerned to ensure sewerage systems are strengthened  according to the growing population's demands to ensure proper water drainage. Revised plans should be prepared when laying new sewer lines in any area, and consultations should be held with the respective RWAs and local residents, directed  Saini.

‘Govt to provide Rs 20 lakh Medical Insurance cover for every Athlete’

In another event while attending the closing ceremony of the Haryana Kushti Dangal in Kurukshetra, Saini said that State's athletes have brought laurels on the global sports stage.

To ensure welfare of the players of the state, he said that the government has resolved to provide a medical insurance cover of Rs. 20 lakh to every athlete. Besides this, annual incentives of Rs. 50 lakh, Rs. 30 lakh, and Rs. 20 lakh will also be awarded to the top three Akharas at the state level, and Rs. 15 lakh, Rs. 10 lakh, and Rs. 5 lakh will be awarded to the top three Akharas at the district level.

Earlier, the Chief Minister felicitated the winners of the Dangal and extended best wishes. He said that over 500 wrestlers participated at district and regional levels in the two-day event, with 16 of the 32 finalists being female wrestlers, marking a proud moment for the state.

Saini shared that the government has ensured employment for outstanding athletes through the Haryana Outstanding Sports Persons Service Rules 2021. Under this, 550 new posts have been created in the sports department, and 224 athletes have been provided government jobs. Provision of reservation for direct recruitment of athletes in Group-A to Group-D posts have also been made, he said.
