Under the active systems of monsoon trough, heavy rain has started in Madhya Pradesh. This trough is passing through Gwalior and Sidhi. Its effect will be in Gwalior, Chambal and Jabalpur divisions.
Rain started in Bhopal from around 1 pm on Tuesday afternoon. In Sheopur, the water of Seep river started flowing over the bridge this morning.
IMD, Bhopal has issued an alert of heavy rain in 8 districts including Jabalpur. Thunderstorms and light rain may occur in other districts of the state including Indore, Ujjain.
Meteorologist said that heavy rain may occur in Sheopur, Morena, Guna, Ashoknagar, Katni, Umaria, Jabalpur, Dindori during the next 24 hours.
The state has received 72 percent more rain in the season. So far 23.1 inches of rain is the normal rainfall but 27 inches of water has been recorded so far in the season.
Due to rain, Shivpuri roads were submerged. Low lying areas got submerged.

Due to monsoon trough and cyclonic circulation, there was a spell of rain in the state on Monday. Bhopal received light rain throughout the day. Rainfall was recorded in 20 districts including Indore and Ujjain. Due to good rain most of the dams have more than 80 percent water. Due to this, the gates also had to be opened.
The gates of Kolar, Bansagar, Kundalia, Bargi, Indira Sagar, Omkareshwar, Kaliyasot, Bhadbhada, Kerwa Dam had to be opened several times in August. Water arrived in these dams on Tuesday as well. Jabalpur, Bhopal and Narmadapuram divisions are at the forefront in terms of rainfall so far.
The rainfall figure in Mandla of Jabalpur division is more than 40 inches. The top 10 districts with the highest rainfall include Seoni, Narmadapuram, Raisen, Sheopur, Chhindwara, Dindori, Sagar, Rajgarh and Balaghat. More than 32 inches of rainfall has been recorded in Bhopal, which is about 88 percent of the normal rainfall.
