Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar today visited the Jharkhand Pavilion at the 'World Food India Festival-2024' organized at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. He said that World Food India is a remarkable initiative of the Government of India to bring people associated with the food processing sector on one platform.
The Governor visited the stalls set up there and obtained detailed information about the products from the stall holders. He appreciated the traditional cuisine of Jharkhand displayed here and expressed happiness at seeing the attraction of people towards the products made from traditional food items here.
He said that apart from Shri Anna Madua (Ragi) of Jharkhand, the popularity of products made from other traditional food items has increased immensely and its demand is not only in the country but also abroad.
Meanwhile, representatives of companies visiting Jharkhand Pavilion in World Food India 2024 are showing great interest in investing in Jharkhand. Sushant Gaurav, Director, Industries Department, Government of Jharkhand said that more than 30 companies have expressed their desire to invest in Jharkhand in World Food India 2024. Due to which there is a possibility of investment of about Rs 1000 crore in the field of food processing in Jharkhand and it will also increase technical exchange and participation.
Apart from this, it will help more than 5000 people in earning livelihood. With its help, self-help groups and FPOs will be strengthened and the income of FPOs will also increase.
Gaurav said that this will also strengthen the development of infrastructure and supply chain. He said that the companies that have expressed their desire to invest in Jharkhand include Amul, FSP Bagina, Savishnu Hari Hari Bol, Vista Food, Food Chain ID Sanjh, Aysto Energy, Badgo, Horica Expo, Kanji Manjari Pure Organic Food, Bajaj Foods Hindustan Unilever Limited Ramanjali Organic, Legal Kitchen Foods Ltd., Kalama Technology Pvt. Ltd., Tangent Overseas, Innovative Foods, Pro Agro, Prime Foods, JM Gourmet etc. are the prominent ones.
