Following a court order, Ranka Police registered an FIR against Dudhwal Panchayat Mukhiya Izhar Ansari, Nadeem Ansari and Sultana Parveen in the case of rape and forced religious conversion of a tribal woman.
Police have registered a case under sections 376, 315, 323, 295A, 298, 504, 506 34 of the Indian Penal Code. On the victim filing a complaint in the court, Judicial Magistrate First Class Anulika Kumar had ordered a case against the accused.
The police have registered a case in the matter and intensified the raids to arrest the accused. The victim had lodged a complaint that in the year 2003, the accused Izhar raped her at gunpoint by showing the fear of Naxalites. At that time she was only 14 years old. Since then, he continued to forcefully have physical relations with her. He had physical relations with her for about 20 years till October 2023. During this time, he made her abort three times. After that, he started pressuring her to convert to Islam.
The victim has said that the accused threatened that if she did not do so, he would push her into prostitution. On March 31, 2022, he gave the victim in writing that she should marry in Hindu religion of her own free will. After that, on November 5, 2023, she married a young man in Kudrum village.
Later, he also separated her husband from her by threatening him. He continued to pressurize her to convert. Ranka Police Station Incharge Praveen Kumar said that on the basis of complaint letter number- 972/2024 received from Court Garhwa, Ranka Police Station Case No. 142/24 dated 28/08/24 has been registered under Section- 376/315/323/295A/298/504/506 /34 IPC and investigation has been started. Police are conducting raids to arrest the accused.
