Under the Filaria Mukt Abhiyan, Health and Food Supply Minister Banna Gupta informed about Jharkhand's preparations through a video conference with Union Independent State Health Minister Pratap Rao Jadhav. The campaign started on Saturday. Gupta said that filariasis will be eradicated from the state by the stipulated time and target.
Giving information about MDA Plan 2024, Gupta said that it will be run in a total of 9 districts of Jharkhand, Chatra, Dumka, Godda, Hazaribagh, Jamtara, Latehar, Palamu, Saraikela and West Singhbhum. In which there is a total population of 1,41, 37,228 people, in which the target is to give medicine to 1 crore 24 lakh 40 thousand 7 hundred 60 people.
The Minister said that we have built a total of 1777 health centers, under which we have identified 1495 villages and have planned to provide medicines to 3 crore 11 lakh people through trained health workers.
Giving information, Gupta said that this disease usually occurs to people living below the poverty line, so our demand is that the target of building Pradhan Mantri Awas should be completed as soon as possible in the affected districts. The rainy season is going on, so please allocate mosquito nets in every state, especially in Jharkhand, as soon as possible, he said.
