ESL Steel Limited, a prominent entity within the Vedanta Group and a leading integrated steel producer in India, has consistently demonstrated its commitment to societal and community development. The company has been widely recognized for its various intervention programs, receiving numerous awards from national and international governmental and non-governmental organizations.

Continuing its dedication to community growth and the promotion of sportsmanship, ESL Steel Limited has established the Vedanta ESL Archery Academy. Located within the plant premises in Siyaljori, this state-of-the-art academy provides aspiring archers from the rural areas of Chas and Chandankiyari blocks in Bokaro district with the necessary resources and guidance to excel in the sport.

In honor of National Sports Day, celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Indian hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, ESL Steel Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing local talent through the Vedanta ESL Archery Academy. The academy has expanded its training program to include 50 dedicated archers, ranging from beginners to advanced levels. These athletes benefit from top-quality equipment, professional coaching, and a well-maintained archery ground. The academy also emphasizes the importance of balanced nutrition to support the overall well-being of its students. Future plans include improving facilities, introducing an in-house gym, recurve bow training, and increasing participation in national tournaments.

Since its inception, the Vedanta ESL Archery Academy has achieved remarkable success, with its students winning 185 medals across national, state, and district competitions. The academy's medal count has steadily increased, with 46 medals won between 2020 and 2022, 69 medals in 2022-2023, and 70 medals in 2023-2024. Recently, seven of its archers excelled at the 15th Jharkhand State Archery Tournament in Hazaribagh, winning a total of 21 medals, including 16 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze. Their achievements were celebrated by the Bokaro District Archery Association.
