The All India Institute Mdical ciences here on Saurday announced that Dean (Academics) Dr. Rajneesh Joshi, Professor of Medicine at AIIMS Bhopal, secured first place in two categories at the District Level Philately Exhibition Bhopal 2024, held on September 26 and 27 at the Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma Auditorium, Dak Bhawan, Bhopal.
Dr. Joshi's exhibition featured two unique themes. The first showcased the medical colleges and institutions of India under the theme "Developed India," while the second focused on public health challenges related to TB and HIV. His remarkable achievement highlights the diverse interests and knowledge of AIIMS Bhopal faculty members, furthering the institute's tradition of academic excellence.
The exhibition saw participation from over 45 philatelists, displaying more than 126 frames on a variety of subjects. Dr. Joshi's efforts have not only brought recognition to AIIMS Bhopal but also contributed to the awareness and appreciation of philately as an enriching hobby.
On this occasion, AIIMS Bhopal ED Prof Ajai Singh congratulated Dr. Joshi for his outstanding achievement. In his message, he emphasized the value of stamp collection as a means of knowledge enhancement, particularly for the youth. He stated, "Philately opens doors to learning about diverse subjects, from history to science. It is an enriching hobby that fosters curiosity and broadens one's understanding of the world. Prof. Singh also appreciated the efforts of the Postal Department, under the leadership of CPMG Shri Vineet Mathur of Madhya Pradesh Circle, in promoting philately and encouraging the younger generation to develop an interest in this timeless hobby.
"The Postal Department is playing a commendable role in keeping the spirit of philately alive and in making it appealing to children and youth alike," Prof. Singh added.
