CM’s unique efforts: Global impact of Shrimad Bhagvad Gita

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has initiated a series of unique efforts for cultural revival and spiritual renaissance in Madhya Pradesh. In this sequence, the state government is organising Gita Jayanti Mahotsav in all the district headquarters on the occasion of Gita Jayanti on 11 December.

On this special occasion, it is necessary to know that Shrimad Bhagvad Gita is a unique spiritual guide book, the influence of Bhagvad Gita has spread across the world. The divine words of Lord Shri Krishna explain the whole life. There is a solution to the problems of the world and the sufferings of man. It is a difficult task to describe the glory of “Gita” in words. For easy reference of the readers, a compilation of the views of the world's great men, great scientists, scholars and philosophers on Shrimad Bhagwad Gita has been presented.

“No other book contains as much knowledge in such a concise form as the Shrimad Bhagvad Gita, as imparted by Lord Krishna.” – Mahamana Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya.

“Whenever doubts surround me and despair starts to appear on my face; I see a single ray of hope in the form of Gita on the horizon. I definitely find a verse in it which consoles me. Then I start smiling in the midst of troubles” – Mahatma Gandhi.

The Gita also had a special influence on the life of the famous German poet, novelist and painter Hermann Hesse. This is evident in his timeless work ‘Siddhartha’. He said, “The greatest aspect of the Gita is its ability to convey the true meaning of life with complete authenticity.”

Albert Schweitzer, a famous nineteenth century philosopher and Nobel Peace Prize winner, believed that 'The Bhagvad Gita has a profound impact on human life. It gives the message of attaining God through actions.'

Swiss psychologist Carl Jung is known for analytical psychology. He was an expert not only in psychology but also in philosophy, literature and religious studies. He believed that "the concept of man being represented as an inverted tree existed long ago, which was brought to the fore later. Plato's statement that "man is not an earthly but a heavenly plant, which is irrigated by the universe. This is a Vedic concept and it has been clearly stated in the 15th chapter of the Gita."

Aldous Huxley, a famous English writer of the nineteenth century, said - "The Gita is the most systematic text for creating an understanding of human values ??in man. It is the most clear and comprehensive presentation of eternal philosophy till date. It is not just for India but it is connected to the whole of humanity.''

The Gita had a great influence on the life of the famous nineteenth century American essayist and literary figure Emerson. He believed, "I had a wonderful day with the Bhagvad Gita. It is the first book of its kind. It was written in some other time and circumstances, but it answers our questions and problems with complete clarity."

The Gita had a great influence on the life of Austrian philosopher and writer Rudolf Steiner. He believed that to understand a masterpiece like the Bhagvad Gita, we just need to tune ourselves to it.'

The influence of the Gita on the famous American philosopher and writer Henry David Thoreau is reflected in his literature and social work. He used to say that "Among all the memorable things of ancient India, there is no other thing better than the Gita. The knowledge described in the Gita is so great and timeless that its usefulness can never diminish."
