Chas: Delhi Public School (DPS) Chas recently organized an impactful Capacity Building Program in collaboration with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This initiative was designed to enhance educators' professional skills, equipping them with modern tools and techniques to foster dynamic learning environments.
The event began with a traditional Indian welcome, symbolizing cultural respect. Attendees, including prominent educators, were greeted with a ceremonial Tilak and sapling, promoting environmental awareness. The auspicious lamp-lighting ceremony, accompanied by sacred chants, set a positive tone for the day. The sessions were led by resource persons, Deepali Bhuskute, Officiating Principal of DPS Chas, and Suraj Sharma, Principal of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro.
Key sessions focused on introducing teachers to innovative pedagogical methods, particularly the ALAP (Active Learning and Participation) model, which emphasizes student-centered learning. Educators were also trained in integrating 21st-century skills like critical thinking, collaboration, and adaptability into their teaching practices. Additionally, skill mapping was covered to help educators align their techniques with students’ unique strengths.
Participants were enthusiastic about the insights gained, and the event concluded with a vote of thanks and the National Anthem. Dr. Hemlata S. Mohan, Chief Mentor of DPS Chas, emphasized the importance of evolving teaching methods to meet new challenges, highlighting the value of such training programs.
