To commemorate National Sports Day and in honor of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, the Sports and Civic Amenities Department of Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL) organized a special Sports Honor Ceremony. The event was attended by the Chief General Manager (Town Administration) Kundan Kumar, General Managers A.K. Avinash, T. Salam, and C.R.K. Sudhanshu, along with Assistant General Manager (Sports & Civic Amenities) S. Rajak, other officers, coaches, and athletes from various schools in Bokaro who have excelled in sports.
The ceremony began by welcoming the chief guest and participants, followed by Kundan Kumar offering floral tributes to the portrait of Major Dhyan Chand. During the event, 74 athletes who had distinguished themselves in various sports were honored. In addition, 24 coaches and former athletes were recognized for their significant contributions to the field of sports.
Addressing the gathering, Kundan Kumar emphasized the importance of sports in life and encouraged the athletes to continue striving for excellence.
Leading up to National Sports Day, the Sports and Civic Amenities Department organized various sports competitions, which saw enthusiastic participation from a large number of athletes.
